Kanye
West - "All of the
lights"
From the
video, the inspiration I took was the way colour was used in a strobe fashion.
I wanted to incorporate this into my video all be it unconventional in a slow
R&B song. I used this tutorial
video to achieve this. As mentioned in my Pitch, I discussed how I wanted to juxtapose the greyscale with colour, I feel this is one way that I can achieve that.
From this video, I liked the way it was edited to create a trippy vibe. I want to try a create this effective on a lesser scale which if executed properly can be effective; plus the music video is by the Weeknd who also created the song I am using which provides an opportunity to maintain the artistes brand/star image.
This video has a dark tone and the visuals reflect this. You can clearly identify substance use and the reflects the blur and distortion effects used in the video. I also like the filter colours on this clip and the way the purple colour palette was used.
Panic! At
the Disco - "Don't
threaten me with a good time"
From the video, I liked the fast and at times disjointed editing to imply drunken behaviour. I feel this, with a cantered angle on the camera would create an effective drunk representation. This videos colour filters I also liked because they helped to convey the tone. One example of this was when the colour scheme went from warm tones to cold ones as a women turns to a man who was sitting at the end of a bar.
Kendrick Lamar - "Humble"
From this video, I liked lots of the camera movements, editing techniques and effects. I decided to recreate the flicker affect seen in the video.
